OneMedForumSF (www.onemedplace.com) 2012 Conference Preview


The 5th Annual OneMedForum will take place in San Francisco from January 9th through 11th coinciding with the JP Morgan Conference.  Two conferences together attract 4000+ attendees, other professionals and create a central rendezvous place for those interested in the future of the healthcare industry.  The OneMedForum will kickoff on January, 9th with four panel sessions expected to address challenges and opportunities in Healthcare and life science companies in China.

The program on January, 10th will begin with a session addressing what has become the big buzz word in healthcare, personalized medicine.  After the recent launch of ZELFORAF for mutation-positive metastatic melanoma, there is even greater interest in personalized medicine for treatment in such complex diseases like Alzheimer’s and various other forms of cancer.  This session will evaluate the risks and opportunities for investing in this space.  Next, the leading healthcare providers, largest consumers of healthcare, will share their views on where they see the unmet needs and opportunities for growth, and what they will buy and invest in.  This should be a must session for budding entrepreneurs.  David Weild, Capital Markets Advisor at Grant Thronton, Founder & Chairman of Capital Markets Advisory Partners and former Vice Chairman of NASDAQ, will give a luncheon key note address on future of US Capital Markets.  Mobile health in medical devices will be discussed in the afternoon and challenges of connectivity and communication in monitoring of patient health, will be addressed.  Last session for the day will explore global outlook on medical technologies.

Investment trends in Biotechnology will be addressed in the opening session on January, 11th including, regenerative medicine, neurological disorders, vaccines and infectious diseases.  Next session will explore issues of leveraging information and technology to deliver outcomes, most cost effectively.  In post-lunch session, investment trends in medical devices, will be discussed – and wouldn’t we all like to know that?  The day will end with discussion on how Western companies can capitalize on emerging market opportunities inIndia.
